Dr Ellen Selkon
MBChB FRNZCGP FNZCAM
Ellen qualified in 1991 at The University of Stellenbosch in Cape, South Africa. She has worked in General Practice and A&M Clinics since 1995. Ellen came to New Zealand in 1997, is married to Richard and they have a daughter who was born in New Zealand. She consults on Mondays until 2pm.
She has completed her Advanced Vocational Educational programme to become a specialist GP, and was awarded her Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (FRNZCGP) in 2004.
Her special interests are Appearance Medicine and Minor Surgery and in 2009 she obtained her Fellowship in Appearance Medicine through the New Zealand College of Appearance Medicine (FNZCAM). Through Clinic 42, one of the premier Appearance Medicine clinics in New Zealand, she provides consultations in appearance medicine, Botulinum Toxin Type A Injections, Collagen Fillers, Chemical Peels and Platelet Rich Plasma Skin Rejuvination . All appointments for Appearance Medicine consultations and treatments should be made through Clinic 42.

Dr Jim McVeagh

Dr. Jim McVeagh is British-born but trained in South Africa. He graduated from the University of The Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1981 and worked as a GP in Johannesburg for eight years followed by a two year stint as a mine doctor on a coal mine in Botswana where he was exposed to an incredible range of third world medical problems that are seldom seen in first world countries today
Jim emigrated to New Zealand with his wife and two daughters in 1995. In New Zealand he has spent much of his time in Emergency Medicine, some as a medical officer and some as Clinical Director of the emergency department at Invercargill hospital. Recently, he has spent some time working in rural hospitals and has done extended locums in General Practice and Accident & Medical Practice. Jim holds Diplomas in Emergency Medicine from both South Africa and New Zealand, and is a Fellow of the College of Urgent Care New Zealand. Jim is the Clinical Director of our Urgent Care Clinic.
Jim has interests in Emergency Medicine, Chronic Pain Management and Geriatrics and works 4 days a week at Westgate Medical Centre. Jim is available any weekday except Wednesday for appointments.

Dr Kim Yee
MBChB
Kim was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and moved to New Zealand in 2014. He studied for his medical degree in University of Manchester and qualified as a doctor in England in 2010. He further his training at various specialties in England, Singapore as well as New Zealand.
He has worked in both general practice and hospital specialties including general medicine, general surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, as well as neurology, neurosurgery and urology. Kim is currently working towards his fellowship in Royal New Zealand College of Urgent Care. Kim is interested in all aspects of general medicine and urgent care with focus on orthopaedics and injuries.
Outside of work Kim enjoys computing, fixing small electronic items, travelling overseas and meeting people.

Dr Amanda Mitchell
MBChB (Auckland), Dib Obst & Gynae FRNZCGP
Amanda enjoys her part time work and can be booked on Mondays and Thursdays. She has loved being part of the team at Westgate Medical Centre for nearly 20 years.
She enjoys the great outdoors and is passionate about her teenage children and the environment. Every year she volunteers for 2 or 3 weeks in rural medical clinics in Papua New Guinea.
She trained in Otago and Auckland Universities in the early 1990s then gained her Obstetrics and Gynecology Diploma and GP Fellowship. She is currently working towards her second fellowship in Urgent Care. She loves the challenge of assisting people with whatever need they walk through the door with – whether it be a sporting injury, an infection or mole removal!

Dr Ayad Razoki
MBChB, FRNZCGP, DipCEM, FAMPA
Ayad has been a full-time GP at Westgate Medical Centre since 2003 & has formed a strong connection with the West community.
After qualifying as a doctor in 1984, Ayad gained extensive surgical experience, having spent 10 years working in military & public hospitals in the Middle East. After migrating to NZ in 1995 with his wife and two daughters, he passed the NZREX exams and then spent 5 years working in public hospitals in Auckland, primarily as a surgical registrar. He passed Part 1 FRACS (surgical specialty exam) in 1998 & OSCA exam in 1999.
In 2000 he decided to pursue a career in General Practice and Accident & Medical Practice. He completed his PRIMEX exam in 2001 and the Advanced Vocational Education programme to become a specialist GP, obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (FRNZCGP) in 2004.
In 2005 he was awarded a Diploma in Community Emergency Medicine and in 2006, he gained vocational registration in Accident & Medical Practice with the award of the Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of Urgent Care (FRNZCUC).
Having spent several years as a surgical registrar his special interest in medicine is minor surgery and he carries out all the tongue-tie releases, vasectomies and circumcisions in the clinic, as well as the usual excision of skin cancers, cysts, and all manner of lumps and bumps. He is available for appointments Tuesday – Friday.

Dr Nameer Wadea
MBChB, Dip Dermatology
Dr Nameer Wadea graduated in the year 2009. He moved to New Zealand in 2007 with his family and has worked at Auckland City, North shore, and Starship Hospitals, in a diverse range of specialties, before commencing his GPEP and Urgent Care training programmes.
Nameer is currently working towards his fellowships of the Royal New Zealand Colleges of General Practice and Royal New Zealand College of Urgent Care. Nameer has been working in General Practice/Urgent Care for the last few years. Nameer’s particular interests lie in Urgent Care, dermatological issues, men’s health and Skin Cancer Medicine. Nameer is skin cancer doctor with expertise in melanoma screening, skin cancer diagnosis, treatment and surgery. He has received further training through the Australasian Skin Cancer College, obtaining certification in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery, and Professional Diploma in Dermoscopy (early diagnosis of skin cancers using a skin microscope). Nameer is currently working towards his Masters Degree in Skin Cancer from the University of Queensland. Nameer loves travelling and reading, and Mountain biking.

Dr Charlotte Auty is a British doctor who graduated from The University of Manchester with honours in Medicine in 2020. She also has a first class honours degree in neuroscience and has a keen interest in social inequalities and medical education. She plays the piano and loves learning languages and travelling in her spare time.

Dr Brandao graduated MBChB with Honours from the University of Manchester, UK in 2019.
He and has completed a postgraduate Masters at the University of Nottingham in Sports and Exercise Medicine. A Portuguese native, he has travelled the world and enjoys football, motor racing and live music.
